Yippee - School Starts Back Soon!!

I feel like such a terrible grandma right now. I cannot wait for school to start back up. I need a 'break' before Mrs. Hyde loses our cool. I love my grandkids to pieces but lately all they do is fight with each other and I cannot handle it any more. I actually told them to go ahead and beat the crap out of each other, I didn't care. That did get their attention, they stopped smacking each other and told me I was 'mean'. The baby called me 'Meenie'. They were ganging up on me instead of each other. Reverse Psychology? It only worked for about a half hour and then the name calling and hitting and pinching started back up. Other times they play so well together.
When school starts maybe my headaches will cease.

The kids are getting bored, I told them if they could behave for ONE HOUR with no fighting that I'd take them to the park. Longer than one hour would be torture for them. Less than one hour would be torture for me.

  1. I came to this blog from your prim and handmades blog! I like the idea of Mrs. Hyde, as I am in the twilight zone of peri/menopausal life myself! I read about your trip to the Cape May Zoo, we went there back in May when we visited our daughter who lives in south Jersey, outside of Philly.

Just wanted to say Hi, and that I enjoyed your blog!

  2. Hi Kathy *Ü*

Thank you so much for visiting & commenting! *Ü*.
I hope your own 'Mrs. Hyde' is a little bit nicer than mine, lol.
Mine alludes to using a cattle prod on our husband when he annoys her. I've yet to find it to use myself though.
Personally, I don't find menopause much fun. Although, no longer having 'the curse' is the best part of it! The worst for me is the 'flashing'. I could really do without that.
Best of luck to you in the Twilight Zone. It helps to keep a sense of humor and a prescription for an anti-depresant to help with those mood swings.

  3. Yes, you are correct! Effexor XR is what I'm trying to get off. It just lost it's pizzazz with me a few months back.

If you don't mind, I'd like to subscribe to your menopausal monster blog! I thought it was pretty funny (sorry!); but only because I can relate so well!!! I hope I get through this wonderful time of life with my sanity intact! (and my marriage!)

I also liked your pear pincushion and other stuff you made too!

    Thanks for commenting back!

  4. Kathy, LOL I'm glad you found some of the blog funny - that's what I was aiming for, ha ha. Of course I've been told I have a warped sense of humor sometimes.
I hope you will subscribe - thanks!! It really helps to know that there are other women out there who can relate to what I go through!
    And thanks regarding my crafts!!
