Today marks the first anniversary of my open heart surgery procedures, a myectomy and mitral valve repair. I can't believe how fast this past year has gone.
The myectomy has done wonders. I no longer have the 'squeezing' sensations in my heart, shortness of breath, dizziness has never returned, and I feel good. My daughters are all up to date on their echocardiograms and don't need retested for quite a while. Out of 6 of my siblings, four have had echos and don't show any symptoms of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.
