Dream Interpretation : Teeth Falling Out

I have a number of times, dreamt that all of my teeth fall out. It never hurts. They just fall out on their own. I tried to look it up to see what it could mean, but there are just so many different interpretations, and none of them seem to pertain to 'me'. I am not a tooth grinder, I've never had braces. One interpretation is that you could be concerned about your physical appearance. I had this dream again last night.

Well........yeah....ok. I need to lose at least 50 lbs. My teeth don't weigh that much. If they all fall out......I'm still going to be 50 lbs overweight. That can't be it.

On the other hand, I've not stuck to my 6 week makeover plan 'exactly' as the plan states. Yesterday I had a 2 oz piece of steak for dinner instead of the 'allowed' fish, turkey or chicken. Later in the evening because it was close to 90 degrees here Tom wanted to go down to Blinkey's for a beer. He didn't hear me say : Oh, sorry Tom, you go on ahead, I'm not supposed to drink beer or any other alcholic beverages while on this plan". I had my sandals on and purse in hand within 2 minutes. A nice cold beer was too irresistable. Did I mention that while we were on our second glass that he also ordered 10 hot wings? Yeah, I helped him eat them. Shoot me.

I got on the scale this morning and weigh the same.

And all of my teeth are still rooted to my gums.

Another interpretation for dreaming about losing your teeth means you may be coming into some money.
BULL!! I've had these dreams for 20 some years off and on and I'm no wealthier than I ever was.
Of course, Tom has a $25,000 life ins. policy on me through work.......maybe HE'S the one who will come into money.

How many of you have had this same dream? It's supposed to be 'universal'.

Mrs. Hyde & The Makeover Plan

Mrs. Hyde has been 'hiding' for quite a while. I didn't know if she was 'happy' about my new makeover plan or not, she's not had anything to say. But after yesterday's performance, I think she's going to co-operate with me.

Mrs. Hyde decided to make an appearance yesterday when our daughter Carey arrived in this really CUTE outfit.

It was a light tan tunic top with gold sequins around the neckline and hem. She was wearing brown leotard type leggings ( stopped above the ankle) with really cute brown wedgie sandles that also had sequins on the straps. She looked fabulous and Mrs. Hyde actually said......."oh Carey!!! That looks stunning on you honey, maybe I can borrow it when I lose all this weight!"

Come on Mrs. Hyde, that outfit looks great on Carey. She's 32 years old. Honestly now, you're 55 years old and even if you did lose 60 more lbs and could fit into that, people would be pointing fingers at you and snickering ' look at that old lady trying to dress like a 30 year old'.
Photobucket

Although I have to admit, I sure wish I could wear something like that.

I had an aunt, my mom's half sister Aunt Emily who was in her 60's when I was a sophomore in high school. That was back in 1968-69 when mini skirts and go-go boots were the style. Aunt Emily would come to visit and SHE was wearing mini skirts and white go-go boots at her age!!! Well..............all I will say is that when she wasn't within ear shot, we kids had a good ole belly laugh at her expense.

But now, that I'm nearing 60 myself. I can totally understand WHY she wore that getup. She didn't want to get 'old' any more than I do, and if she 'felt' younger and happier wearing that garb, now I can say 'good for you old girl'.

So, Mrs. Hyde......if you really, really want to borrow Carey's outfit when we are skinny enough to fit into that outfit, even if it's 5 years outdated by then old girl, we are damn well going to wear that at least once out in public.

Fall Carlisle, PA Car Show - What A Crappy Time

Tom and I took a day trip to the Carlisle, PA car show the end of September. It's a three hour drive from our home through the Allegheny mountains.
You never know what the weather is going to be like at that time of the year. We've been going twice a year for the last 15 years or so ( Spring and Fall) and we're always prepared. We bring along jeans, jackets and umbrellas just in case the weather turns foul.
This trip I would have welcomed some 50 degree weather. It was in the upper 80's but felt like mid 90's and was so humid. I had planned on doing some major walking since I'm so out of shape from not walking all summer long ( again, the very hot weather) but it wasn't to be. I was melting. I needed shade. The shade wasn't much better temperature wise, but at least the sun wasn't cooking me from the inside out.
Hot weather and humidity does not bother Tom. In fact he relishes it. He's a letter carrier and would rather walk in the heat and humidity than in the snow and bitter cold below zero temperatures.
I'm no glutton for punishment so I let Tom do his thing and walk around the fairgrounds in search of his 'treasures' while I sat in the grandstands and read my paperback that I brought along. The grandstands was shady, but the heat still penetrated. While I was sweating, I wasn't cooking from direct sunlight.
I found myself a nice spot along the left side of the grandstands. There are benches but no backs and since my back has been giving me trouble, I thought I'd lean against the side of the end of the grandstands to help give me some support.
Shortly after I sat down, a woman who appeared to be around my age sat right in front of me. She was fanning herself with her hand and commented how 'freaking hot' it was. Ahhhhhh so it's not just me. I put my book aside and we got into a conversation.
She was very nice and I was enjoying talking to her. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something fly over the grandstand, it was dark and looked like a small stone and it hit my new friend on top of the head. You could hear the 'plunk' sound it made. She said 'ow' and put her hand up to feel the injured spot and her hand came away with gunk all over it. GUNK??? Ewwwww.........upon closer inspection it turns out she wasn't hit with a flying stone............it was bird poop.
It wasn't white bird poop mind you. I'm an expert on bird poop, I've been pooped on several times in the last few years. Oh yes. No, it wasn't white. It was brown......and it looked very much like diarhhea. Very disgusting and I almost lost my breakfast. I have no clue what kind of bird poops brown diarhhea but my new friend didn't really care what kind of bird it was, she just wanted IT out of her hair. She was lucky because I just happened to have some napkins in my purse from breakfast that morning. She had a half bottle of water so we soaked up some napkins and I began cleaning her head. Or I tried to. It seemed I was making it worse. I tried very hard not to gag. It was slimey and it just did not want to be removed! At one point her cell phone rang. She answered and it was her hubby. He was walking down an aisle near the grandstands and happened to look up and saw some strange woman ( that was me ) playing with her hair. She explained that a bird s**t on her and this nice lady ( that was me) was helping her to get it out of her hair. After dozens of swipes with the wet napkins and she even used her fingers a few times, we got most of it out. She was very appreciative and thanked me profusely for helping her.
I'm glad I was there for her. As I said earlier, I'm an expert on being crapped on , literally. We go to the Jersey shore every year for two weeks and at least once or twice every couple years, the Gods deem it 'Time To Poop On Neenee'.
One year the motel we were staying at had free hotdogs at noon on Wednesdays.
We were standing in line and I noticed some kids on the 2nd floor throwing a ball down to the ground floor. As I'm talking to Tom, I get a thump on the head. It actually hurt, felt like a rock hit me and I assume that it was the ball the kids were playing with. It felt weird though, so I put my hand up to my head and it came away with some slimey white goo and when I realized what it was ( seagull poop) I started gagging. Well, after seeing that, I was no longer wanting a hotdog, all I wanted was to get up to our room and wash my hair! Which is exactly what I did.
Oh, did I mention that Tom thought it was hysterical? Or that he may not have been pooped on that year, but the following year, the Gods deemed it his turn........he he he.
Back to my story. So we got most of the poop out of my new friend's hair. There was still a trace of poop that was stubborn but she was okay with that since her hubby was coming for her and they were ready to head back to their motel where she could shower and shampoo. Had I been the one to be pooped on, I would have had no one around to help me ( that's my kinda luck) and would have had to wait for Tom to finish his treasure hunt plus a three hour drive home before I could wash that poop right outta MY hair.
When Tom had decided it was time to get out of the blaring sun into some shade and drink a cold Coke, he joined me at the grandstands. I introduced him to my friend and Tom, being the kind of guy he is says to her ' Boy, you're brave, anyone who sits near Denise usually gets crapped on' which was 'ironic' because he had no idea that's exactly what happened! When we told him..........he moved three rows back.

Effexor To The Rescue

Well, my doctor came through for me and called in a new Effexor prescription for me and I picked it up yesterday. A little perturbed though because there are NO refills........wth?? and she did not call in the Naproxin ( anti-inflammatory) med for my pinched nerve ( possible sciatic nerve ). I guess 'they' want that darned $10 co-pay just to hand me a script, because she won't be doing anything else, I was just there 3 weeks ago.
I'm going to call again tomorrow and leave a message on her voice mail. My Effexor will take a while to 'kick in' so I can't promise I won't flip out. I hate voice mails.

And then since taking the Effexor all over again, I've been getting severe sweats. It's driving me crazy. I'd forgotten that it's a side effect of the med. I will probably be sleeping on the couch tonight with the rotating fan on full blast again. If I weren't afraid of falling off and drowning, I'd sleep on the raft in the pool.

It isn't easy being menopausal.

Road Trip Part2

Day 2 March 27, 2007

We were concerned if I was going to have any problems sleeping in the motel bed, since it had only been a week that I was able to move from the living room sofa to our own bed. I brought my reading pillow along, to help elevate my head and chest and used a pillow under my knees like I was doing at home. Those beds are not the most comfortable, but I managed to get a good night's rest.

Tom had taken his shower the night before, and I like to take mine in the mornings to get my day started nice and fresh. I like that the motel had a standing shower instead of a tub, but Lordy it was difficult to feel 'clean'. There isn't much room in this type shower, and the blasted shower curtain kept blowing in and sticking to your body. You try to wash your legs and feet and the bloody water rinses off the soap before you begin to scrub.
Mrs. H. was more aggravated than I was, but she kept her cool. I'm really surprised she didn't throw a hissy fit. She probably knew that if she caused a fuss, Tom was likely to leave her behind. The best way to get clean was to get wet, turn the shower off, scrub, then turn it back on. Ridiculous way to shower, but after rinsing 'we' just stood there for a while with the hot water massaging our backs....that is until the hot water magically turned into ice cold water. I yelped. She yelped. The water continued to yo yo back and forth, hot, cold, hot, cold. Not a good way to start off the day.
We headed for McDonalds for breakfast. The only thing we ever buy there is the sausage egg Mcmuffins and coffee for me, hot tea for Tom. One thing I can say about McD's. Their burgers and fries might be cold but their coffee is damned HOT. I burnt the roof of my mouth and tongue and this was after adding 3 of those creamers. I recalled the time not too many years ago where a customer had filed suite because they were badly burnt from the coffee. Now I can see why. I put a lid on my coffee and took it with me. I couldn't drink it for quite a while.

We drove into Niles, Michigan to one of my favorite antique shops, Four Flags Mall. ( South Bend is right on the Michigan Border ) and Niles MI is only a couple miles up the road. This particular shop has a huge crafts room on the second floor and I love to buy my room/linen sprays and scented rosehips here, and I love to just look at all the different primitive and vintage crafts. I had every intention on buying something for myself but nothing called my name. I was disappointed, but we had a few days to go yet. We looked around for a good hour and believe it or not, when we went back out to the truck, my coffee was still warm.

Heading back towards South Bend we hit two more antique malls and then we got back on the Indiana Turnpike. Our next destination was LaPorte, IN. To our dismay one of our favorite antique stores had closed.

An hour later we were back on the road headed towards Chicago. There's a stretch on 80-94 that we absolutely hate. There are 5 lanes in some areas and 4 in others. The drivers are like kamekazes. They weave in and out constantly and FAST, you'd think you were on a speedway course. You are literally taking your life in your hands when you drive this road.
By the time we get to St. Charles and our hotel, we are ready for a good stiff drink to calm our nerves. Rather Tom was ready for a beer......I had to stick to diet Coke.

We went to Gino's East for a Chicago style deep pan pizza. YUM. Their crust is a yellow color and very tasty. The cheese is the middle layer and the sauce is on top. You bite into the pizza and a long string of mozzarella stretches out and slaps back onto your chin. Ah, it's good. We order a small for the two of us and it's just enough. Once again, Tom gets to enjoy a nice cool brew with his pizza and I don't.

We are in bed by 9 pm and Tom is sleeping by 9:15. I stay up a little longer and watch some TV. He's getting up early in the morning to head over to the Kane County fairgrounds where some vendors will be set up with their goodies. This lasts for two days.
I may have forgotten to mention that we are collectors of 40's & 50's jukeboxes, 50's soda machines, soda fountain items, and original advertising signs ( mostly soda). We are in St. Charles for the Chicagoland Antique Advertising, Slot Machine and Jukebox Show.
I am not going over as that particular 'show' is boring for me. It has really gone downhill over the last few years, with less and less vendors every show. But Tom enjoys BS'ing with all the guys he knows from years of collecting and he'll come back for me before noon. Then we get to do some things I like...........SHOPPING.

Our Road Trip Part1

Day 1 March 26, 2007

Since I was given the go ahead to travel, Tom and I (and Mrs. Hyde) left home at 6:30 am to begin our trip. Our first stop was down the street at Eggs R Us for breakfast. Then we headed to LabCorp so I could have my bloodwork done. We bought a $10 phone card to use on the trip so that afternoon I could call the doctor's office to get the results and see if my coumadin dosage needed changed. We were in and out and headed for the PA turnpike by 7:10 am.
I managed to stay awake for about 2 hours. The long car trips lull me to sleep.
That's why I never drive on these trips. I'm content to just sit back, enjoy the scenery and listen to music and nap off and on.

Our first stop was at an antique store in Maumee, OH which is approximately a 4 hour drive from where we live.
This is one of my favorites as it's huge and I can usually find lots of items to use in my crafting projects. I picked up an old flour sifter, an old enamel pan, vintage buttons. Even if I don't buy anything, I love to look.
We grabbed a hotdog for lunch, which really annoyed Mrs. H because she had her heart set on a cheddar cheese Arby sandwich. We ALWAYS get an Arby's on this trip our first day for lunch and Tom was not following routine. Like me, Mrs. H likes her Skippy peanut butter and melted cheese on her hot dogs and the only condiments were ketchup, mustard, relish, onions, jalepenos. She was aggravated but grudgingly ate a hot dog with everything but the jalepenos. She likes them, but not on hotdogs. Jalepenos in her opinion belong on Mexican food.
Both Mrs. H and I took a little nap after our lunch while Tom continued to drive us to our next destination which was Allen MI for some more antiquing. I picked up two big jars of buttons for $1 each which made me cringe how much I paid in Maumee for a few button cards. I got a cheesebox for $3 which is a bargain. They usually go for anywhere between $8 & $12. Another bargain was a half gallon Ball mason jar that I want to make a lamp with for $2.50 Again, they start at $12 and up. I prefer to look for them at fleamarkets and yardsales but finding one for that price at an antique mall, I couldn't pass it up.
By the time we were finished, it was time to call the dr. office for my results. This is one time I wish we had a cell phone. It's difficult to find a public telephone these days. We had to drive for miles before we found one.
Never having used a phone card before, I wasted precious calling minutes when I kept dialing the wrong number. I'm holding two cards, the phone card and the dr.'s business card with the number to call in for the ProTime results. What I did over and over again was dail the 1-800 number on the phone card but was dialing the last 4 numbers of the PIN number instead of the numbers I was supposed to use. I really need to have my eyes examined. When I realized what I was doing and how many minutes I'd wasted I was so annoyed with myself I started ranting and raving ( to myself I thought but it turns out Tom heard and saw my antics, like slamming the receiver down, stamping my foot, a curse word here and there and looking like a crazy woman possessed). Actually I was. That was probably Mrs. H.
Anyway, I finally dial all the correct numbers, to get a voice mail instead of a human being. THAT really irritates me and Mrs. Hyde. But I leave a message that I'm out of state and calling on a pay phone for my results. Could they please call my home phone and leave a message on my answering machine and I will call home later that night and have my daughter give me the message. That's what I planned to say, but got cut off halfway through it and Mrs. H took a conniption fit. That lady knows some good cuss words!!! Started out with 100 minutes and now we are down to 50.
Tom is sitting in the truck taking it all in. He says ' looks like the old Neenee is back'. Referring to how I must have been 'before surgery'. After surgery, I was so weak and in pain most of the time, I hardly opened my mouth except to ask for water or medication. I climb up in the truck and we head down the road about a half mile and he asks if the message went through. I said 'I sure hope so'.
He suggests I call our oldest daughter. It's now 4:30 and she is on her way home from work now. I could have her stop by our house on her way home, listen to the answering machine, call us at our hotel tonight and relay the information to me. Sounds like a good plan. We turn around and head back to the public phone ( in a gas station). Tom decides he might as well put some more gas in the truck while I call Deana. I make the call to her cell phone and the voice mail picks up. I figure she isn't picking up because she doesn't recognize the area code and phone number, so I leave a quick message telling her where we are, and to call the phone number that shows on her cell phone. We wait........the phone doesn't ring. Five minutes into the wait it dawns on me that this is Monday and Deana doesn't get off work at 4:30 like she does Tues. thru Fri. It's her late day and she gets off at 6:30 Grumble, cuss, grumble. I get in the truck, tell Tom and he starts to get irritated. With me. Hmmpph! First time since my surgery that he raised his voice to me. Mrs. Hyde remarked that he also should have realized her schedule that we BOTH knew about it. After a few minutes all was well again. He raised my left hand to his face and kissed it, said he didn't mean to snap at me but was just concerned about my medication. Mrs. H settled back down and napped and I stayed awake for a while longer. I figured I'd just call the office back the next day and take the same dose of coumadin that night that I had been taking.
Tom decided since it was still light out instead of getting a motel room in Quincy, a nearby town, that we'd drive on to South Bend Indiana and get a room there for the night.
We arrived around 6:30 got a room, Tom unloaded the truck and then we walked across the street to Ponderosa for dinner.
The motel phone rang about 8:00 It was Deana. She panicked when she got my message thinking something happened. I explained to her that we were fine, sorry to worry you and that I needed her to call the dr's. office the next morning for me and have them give her the information I needed and to call me back the next night when we'd be at our motel in St. Charles, ILL. Got to say hello to my two oldest grandkids ages 7 and 3 1/2 and I was good for the night.
Tom was out like a light by 9:00 and I watched some TV til 10:00.
Tomorrow is another day, another adventure.

Road Trip Time

Tomorrow morning Tom, Mrs. Hyde and I will be departing our home at 5:30 am on our way to Atlantic City for 5 days.

I took Mrs. H shopping this afternoon she was whining that she didn't have anything to wear while I just bought myself a few new tops last weekend. I told her if she would just apply for a job she could afford some new clothes but she reminded me that 'I' was her 'job', that she takes care of me in situations she feels I am unable to handle alone. She got me there, so I dug into my craft money stash and took her to the mall. She must have tried on six different tops before she settled on two of them. Her tastes run similar to my own, although she tends to be more flashy and says I am too dowdy. So we compromise and get something tasteful that we both can agree on. One minor incident involved a nightgown/robe I wanted to buy to put away for my hospital stay the following week. Mrs. H oohed and aahed over a red and black lacey thing that seemed more appropriate for a brothel than a hospital. We almost came to blows on that one. She threatened to stick me with her cattle prod but I managed to convince her to put it away and if she allowed me to purchase my choice of night wear, I would let her bring the cattle prod along on our trip in case the menfolk needed a little persuasion to keep the heat turned down low. She relented after also bribing me into bringing along a gallon jug of wine. I made her promise however, to wait until we got to our hotel and then she could imbibe to her hearts content. Hoping she will drink herself into a stupor and sleep the entire next day so I could have a little fun without worrying what she may or may not do to embarrass us all.

When we got back to the house, Tom was sitting in his truck with the motor running and looked none too happy. Turns out he got home on his lunch hour soon after we had left for the store and he didn't have a key to get into the house. His sister lives down the street from us so he walked down there to borrow the extra key and she wasn't home either. He sat out in his mail truck for 30 minutes with no heater. Those mail trucks are tin and cold as the inside of an ice box. The temp outside was 20 degrees. After his lunch hour was up he returned to the Post Office and was home again an hour later. We still weren't home, he still didn't have a key to get in the house but this time he had heat. When we pulled up and parked he got out of his truck and was somewhat aggravated. He left his key hanging on the key holder in the house because he assumed I wasn't going anywhere today and would be here to let him in. He assumes too much I think. I feel certain that next time he will be sure to pocket his key. Mrs. H doubts it.

Tom and I went down to Blinkey's for dinner and a drink, leaving Mrs. H at home with leftover pizza from last night and the remote control. She had the TV all to herself for a couple hours. Tom and I are going to hit the sack about 8:00 pm tonight so we have no trouble getting up in the morning. Mrs. H. is already sawing logs. I close my eyes and thank the Lord for small favors.

I imagine we will have some stories to write about upon our return from Atlantic City.
Tom asked me if there was any way that we could just leave Mrs. H there on Friday and return without her. I think I still need her, but don't tell HER that. ;)
